UMEME DISCONNECTS ILLEGAL CUSTOMERS IN KIKUUBA MUTWE January 10, 2012

Umeme has disconnected the power of over 13,000 customers in Kabalagala, a Kampala suburb after discovering that over 70% of the power connections are illegal.

The area was found with illegal power connections, poor internal wiring and illegal underground network.

UMEME ANNOUNCES DECREASED LOAD SHEDDING OVER HOLIDAY SEASON December 6, 2011

UMEME has altered the load-shedding structure to prioritise electricity supply for Domestic Customers and Small & Medium Scale Enterprises (SMEs), in order to increase availability of supply for more customers during the Christmas season.

Domestic Customers will now enjoy uninterrupted electricity for two nights in a row broken by a load-shedding interval of only 12 hours on the third night.

EQUIPMENT ARRIVES FOR MUTUNDWE SUB-STATION ELECTRICITY RESTORATIONNovember 29, 2011

THE EQUIPMENT for the repair works at the Uganda Electricity Transmission Company Limited sub-station at  Mutundwe, which was damaged in a fire two weeks ago, has arrived on site.

The brand new equipment has arrived two weeks ahead of schedule, which means areas that were disconnected due to the fire will be restored earlier than previously announced.
